Instructions for Oral Presentations

  • For each oral presentation, there will be a 15 min time slot (12 min for the presentation + 3 min for discussion). The session organizers of each session will be asked to ensure that presentations keep strictly to time in order to allow sufficient time for discussion.
  • A Microsoft Windows computer will be used to project the PowerPoint presentations. It will not be possible to use your own laptop. The computer is equipped with Office Version 2013.
  • As there will be no Macintosh computer please make sure that your PowerPoint presentation can run on a Microsoft Windows computer.
  • Please hand over your presentation on a USB memory stick to the staff at our IT Office upon arrival. Please use the following file naming format Session number_ name.ppt i.e S1_Smith.ppt.
  • All resent actions should be saved either in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 or as a PDF.
  • Registration will start on Sunday at 1 pm. Speakers who have a talk on Monday should make sure that their presentation is uploaded on Sunday.
  • All the other presentations need to be handed over to the staff at the symposium office no later than the afternoon preceding the day the presentation is scheduled!
  • We ask that you arrive in your session room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your session time. This will allow time for you to meet and liaise with your session organiser and to become familiar with the equipment in the conference room.


Instructions for Poster Presentations

  • Erecting and dismantling
    Please put up your poster at registration time on Sunday. Posters should be on display from Sunday 07 October 2018 until the end of the Conference on Wednesday afternoon 10 October 2018. Posters should be removed on Wednesday late afternoon. Any remaining posters will be disposed.
  • Attending your poster
    Authors are expected to attend their poster on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Please consult the conference programme for exact timings.
  • Locating your poster board
    Posters will have an individual ID Number and the Boards will be numbered accordingly.
  • Mounting your poster on the poster board
    Posters will have to be stuck to the magnetic white boards. Magnets will be supplied by the organisers.
  • Size of your poster
    Each poster presentation will be allocated one display board. The dimensions of the poster should be in A1 portrait format 84,1cm and 59,4cm. It will not be possible to display posters with any other dimensions or formats.
